Is ANYONE gonna buy the regular Two Towers DVD?

After everyone and their mother bought the Extended Edition of LOTR:FOTR, are they expecting people to buy the first, more bare-bones, edition of the Two Towers when it comes out in a couple months? All my friends (mostly average movie fans) are already talking about buying the Two Towers:EE when it comes out...

So I guess my question is, anyone here going to buy the "bare-bones" Two Towers DVD? I can only imagine this to be so if you are a LOTR/DVD freak . For me, the EE will do just fine as the suppliments in the regular TT version don't interest me.

But that's not to say I won't rent the regular version...I would like to see this one again, it's been a while.

Yeah sure I'll buy it, as long as I can get it on release day for $14.99 at a Best Buy. I did the same last year, then sold it on eBay for $18.50 after the EE came out.

I am! While all the extras on the extra special editions are great, I really don't give them much attention. Having just the movie and some extras is fine for me.

Yeah, I think I'll just buy the regular Two Towers DVD. The extras on the FOTR EE were pretty good, but Two Towers definitely isn't a personal favorite enough to warrant two purchases, and the movie already felt plenty long as is. So, most likely just the Theatrical Cut for me.

I've started down the same road, I cannot falter. However, if a 3rd version is released after all is said and done, I will not partake in that collosal money grab.

For FotR, wasn't there different extras on the releases? Wasn't there a rebate for buying the regular if you bought the extended as well?

If so, then why not do it for Two Towers as well?

I got the Full Screen version of the 1st movie by doing a test drive of a Kia, then I bought the EE version when it came out.

This time around I do not know what I am going to do. I would enjoy the 1st DVD for months and then enjoy the EE for another few months.

My bet is that I will buy both, the movies are different and the extras are also different.

Yes, I'm buying both releases. The extras are different between the theatrical and extended editions. And I like owning both versions of the films.

So you made $3.51. Less actually, minus tax. Wow. What did you spend on gas driving to Best Buy and the post office?

That's pretty good for eBay. It seems like most people lose money when selling their DVDs. At least the people I've bought from have.

Yes.

I want the 'original theatrical presentation' in addition to the extended cut.

Besides, as bad as the movie is, it's still pretty to look at.

Probably not. With last years release, I got the initial release free (thanks Blockbuster!) Now that I have the extended cut, I really have no interest in the shorter one. So this year, unless it's free or close to it, I'll probably pass on the regular cut, and just get the extended.

If they offer a $5 rebate for buying both again, I'll definitely buy both again. Since I can get the 2 disc version from CH for around $7.16, my net cost would only be $2.16 after rebate.

Is anyone else bugged to no end when people call the first release "barebones"? It's a 2 disc set for cryin' out loud. We are very spoiled.

But anyway, yes, of course I will buy the theatrical release. Different movie. Different features. Plus I don't wanna wait an additional 3 months to watch this great movie again.

Don't complain when only the Extended Edition is available for purchase and you want to see the Gollum shoots first scene.
