SEARCH is your friend:

And for more in depth news about the fixed BTTF:

If somebody else wants to give it a whirl, there's probably more, but I'm lazy.

the fastest way is to get the current set and send disc 2 & 3 in for a replacement. I got the corrected discs in less than a month's time.

FYI, after seeing this thread and being sufficiently bored at work, I just called the number.

The woman answering the phone required a sufficient bit of prompting before she ever said who I was speaking to or if I even had the right number. Eventully, after fully grasping the purpose of my call, she said, "Hi my name is ... you have reached the replacement hotline", etc. and read through the "this is not a problem" monologue.

Then I gave her my address, which she had difficulty understanding (english is not her best language) and she said she would send the mailer out.

It was a slightly frustrating call due to the language barrier, but it felt more comfortable than blindly mailing in the dvds.

zachip, if you read the other (dozens) threads, you'll see that there are currently no retailers (online or B&M) that are confirmed to have the corrected sets.

(And, even if they did, I don't know of a way to confirm that you would actually be sent a V2 set as opposed to an original set.)

It is going to take months and months before the current stock of misframed sets are sold off. Only then will you start to see corrected V2s at retail.

Why do we have to replace the 2nd and 3rd discs? What was the problem with them?

Arrrghh...

MISFRAMED was the problem. Although Universal calls it not a problem that would interrupt your enjoyment of the movie.

Here is the reason that happens. I am currently getting my own business off the ground and have taken a part time job with a teleservices company. When you call that number it rings at the teleservices company, not the disk manufacturer. When the call comes in, about 10 to 20 products pop up on the screen that are all associated with the same phone number. We are not allowed by company policy to mention any of the products until you say it first. This is the reason the girl seemed clueless. Then once we know what product you have called in for which is normally things like (The Ab Swing, Coral Calcium, Atkins Diet or roll-a-hose) we can read the scripted message to you from that particular company. I was surprised the first time a call came in for the DVD replacement as well. But all we can to is read the companies message to you and send out the free information packet.
As for her not speaking English very well, the companies screening process leaves a lot to be desired. Someone like me with a college education at that place is a rarity.
