This one's sitting at home waiting on me. Amazon shipped via super-saving and it arrived three days after street date, which was fine since I didn't have time before then anyway. I can't wait to see this and some of the docs as it was a total blind buy for me...I don't even really remember when all of this happened.

But, as said, I'm pretty jacked about tearing into this set over the next week or so.

Exactly my thoughts.....other than =best all-out-package DVD I own. Still had to have a big head though....o, well!!

Reading a few of these threads again, I just whipped out my non-SE edition and decided to watch the movie again.

At least most of the poster concepts are somewhere in the packaging. In a marketing sense, it's better to have a recognizable face on the cover than a non-descript movie poster (except for movies like Spider-Man where the character just sells itself). Still, I just hate how BIG the head is.

I like the extra $5 off for purchasing Tears of the Sun and BHD. Not bad.

I didn't even think of seeing this movie because of the cover. Now I'm trying to figure out how best to get my hands on it...... Thanks for the reviews people.

Overall I agree. There are just a couple of things that would have made it better though First Mark Bowden was on CSPAN's Booknotes one time (it's a program where authors talk about how they went about writing the book) and while the one History Channel features covers some of it I was kind of hoping they would include this as well. Another thing that would have been interesting, but probably harder/impossible to do (and some may consider it tacky/inapporpriate) would have been to include some of the actual radio transmissions and survellience pics that were taken during the incident w/ the Timeline for instance. I think that would have been interesting though in the sense that the DVD would then have given full coverage to the topic.

Bowden and co, most likely were not able to secure that from DoD. THey had the entire battle on tape (since they were watching from high above)

But DoD prolly said no :-)

From what I understand I believe Bowden has actually listened to the entire recording... I believe it's mentioned in the book, which I gave my copy away so I can't check. If someone else has this please confirm. Of course listening to it (possibly edited) is very different from publically disseminating it on a DVD

This is a great set, but mine has a smashed corner on the outer casing. How I did this (or who), I don't know because it was fine when I bought it. If anyone knows how to contact Sony so I can possibly buy another case, I'd appreciate it.

Here is a link with some audio and video from the actual raid. Plus it's a very interesting read.

I don't think so (at least my copy didn't come with any offer). All I got was a $5 rebate offer for buying BHD: DE and Tears of the Sun: SE

thanks... this is exactly the type of stuff I was hoping they would include. Oh well I guess you can't win them all, great set none-the-less. I finally finished all the features last night, now it's time to start on the commentaries

Glad I bought the Australian r4, http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/222799, it's not just yellow - it's gold.

Great film. Fantastic special edition. I have just scratched the surface of the extras and am impressed with attention to detail. Thanks to DVD producer Charles de Lauzirika. You did your usual great job.
