dts problem in die another day

My die another day dvd has a problem with its dts track. It seemed that the dts tracked is off by fraction of a second. It looks like i'm watching a dub hong kong kung fu movie. Anybody else has this problem also?

Barry 06-04-03 01:43 AM

Yep, same here.
Seems not as noticeable later in the movie.
Nothing wrong with your player or any one else's.
Looks like we have another "Moulin Rouge"DTS track.
You would think after 6 years, they can get it right by now!

eedoon 06-04-03 04:19 AM

I think I see that too, but it can't be noticed unless you really pay attention to it.

Doug Schiller 06-04-03 07:51 AM

I noticed it right away and ended up switching to the DDEX track.

This is irritating and inexcusable if true, but if your surround receiver offers the option of an audio delay you might be able to sync things up again.

skokefoe 06-04-03 11:24 AM

Could we get some more confirmation? Is this true on the R2 version?

Jensen 06-04-03 12:23 PM

same problem here, initially thought it may have just been my system

it's just enough to bug me and make me watch it on DD

kaze0 06-04-03 12:39 PM

I got the same problem too. Initially I thought it was my system and I changed the cables and everything and arggh I'm pissed now. Using a Toshiba sd 1200.

MarcinL 06-04-03 12:55 PM

No problem here, Maybe its the dvd player you are using

MarcinL 06-04-03 12:56 PM

P.S. Only problem I have its that the subtitles dissappear on my dvd players (one of them, SONY) between the "Saved by the bell" all the way to the "I dont condone what they do here" I realize its only 4 speaking parts but still

ChrisHicks 06-04-03 01:28 PM

I don't notice the DTS problem on my player - JVC XV-SA600 region free

uteotw 06-04-03 03:35 PM

Noticed it ever-so-slightly on my Toshiba SD-4800 but it seemed to disappear. I'm glad to have DTS but it'd better if it was right, and I still can't believe flicks like About Schmidt and Adaptation get DTS but Black Hawk Down 3-disc SE does not...

iove 06-04-03 09:07 PM

DTS seems fine on my Panasonic XP-30. Is the sync problem throughout the movie or only on certain parts?

Thespian68 06-04-03 10:07 PM

No issues here on a Toshiba 2805. I watched the intro scene, and the next 15 minutes, and my audio was in sync.

Maybe a bad batch of discs ? I got my copy from WalMart, which had a special run done just for them judging by the bonus CD inside the case, and by the top case seal which said "Die Another Day SE Widescreen- WalMart" right on the seal printing.

Same player here and it was very slight in my eyes/ears also. If I wasn't looking for it, I may not have noticed it.

Its funny that you mentioned "Moulin rouge" because my only 2 dvds that have this problem is Die another day and Moulin rouge.

What dvd player do you use? Mine is Denon DVD 2800

Skull 06-06-03 12:16 AM

No problems on my Sony DVD player.

Same here "Denon 2800" R2 version plays Pal/NTSC.
My receiver is "Pioneer 49tx".

Regarding "Moulin Rouge" bought the R2 version & plays perfect.
Looks like I'll be doing same with "Die Another Day"?

That's the way I felt. I think I noticed it, but I was specifically looking for it, so I'm not sure I would have noticed it otherwise.
This was with a Sony NS300 DVD player.

Static Cling 06-08-03 04:21 AM

I also noticed it more early in the movie, but again, it did seem to go away later. Glad to know I (probably) wasn't imagining things.

evanmd 06-08-03 12:16 PM

I only noticed it when Jinx came up out of the water in Cuba and Bond and here were talking. after that it seemed to be ok. It's most likely a synch problem, I though it could be a ADR problem but if it were an ADR problem we would have noticed it in the theater.

JimRochester 06-08-03 06:04 PM

Had I not heard of the problem, I might not have even noticed. I was having trouble with audio dropouts though. No problem on the DD track.

During this scene I don't think I was noticing anything else, much less voice synchronization :eyebrow:
