Did you ended up keeping the US version or HK version?
Usually both, atleast when they are different (cuts/music/sub-dub/whatever). I haven't repurchased many of the recent Columbia ones though as the HK versions are good enough and I've been waiting for the HKL-R2 versions to come out w/ full SEs :D

2. Samuel L. Jackson (9) - SW 1&2; 3 Tarantino movies; Unbreakable; XXX; R2-D2; Rules of Engagment

And if you minus the other Next Generation cast...

3. Robert DeNiro (6) - Jackie Brown, The Mission, Meet the Parents, Men of Honor, Ronin, Untouchables

otmetrud 05-30-03 06:35 PM

Funny. Brad Pitt is my most frequent actor -- Fight Club, Se7en, Kalifornia, Thelma and Louise, True Romance, a couple of others I can't think of off the top of my head.

Funny because I'd never been a Brad Pitt fan (even though he went to the same high school as my wife in Springfield, MO). But at some point, I realized that he turned up quite a bit in my favorite movies, even though I had never intentionally bought a Brad Pitt movie.

So I decided to do so, blind buy a movie because Brad Pitt was in it. And it sucked (The Mexican).

Jboone 05-30-03 09:29 PM

1. Samuel Jackson
2. Denzel Washington
3. Robert DeNiro

I was surprised by my number 1, since I've never been a huge fan, but I guess he has appeared in a good handful of the flicks I own... here's my top 10 from Guzzlefish's stats:

1. Ben Affleck - 12 titles
2. Samuel L. Jackson - 11 titles
3. Steve Buscemi - 10 titles
4. Philip Seymour Hoffman - 10 titles
5. Tom Cruise - 9 titles
6. Robert DeNiro - 9 titles
7. Tom Hanks - 9 titles
8. Jason Lee - 9 titles
9. Brad Pitt - 9 titles
10. Ben Stiller - 9 titles

I'm not too surprised by the rest of the list... the highest charting actresses have 7 titles each in my collection(Cameron Diaz, Heather Graham, Julianne Moore, Julia Roberts)... Interesting stats really...

antennaball 06-01-03 07:58 PM

apparently, my 187 movies are VERY diverse. my top actor is tied at 5 between Steve Buscemi, Chevy Chase, and Dan Aykroyd.

the actress count is at 4 with Beverly D'Angelo (by virtue of all the Vacation movies).

illennium 06-01-03 08:43 PM

My list, according to Guzzlefish, is absolute nonsense:

1. Toshiro Mifune
2. Takashi Shimura
3. David Cross
4. David Schwimmer
5. James Stewart
6. Orson Welles

That is a confoundingly stupid combination, but keep in mind that I don't have that many DVDs.

bigE 06-01-03 11:21 PM

John Wayne (16)
Sean Connery (10)
Burt Lancaster (10)
Kevin Costner (8)*

* should be 10 if you count Costner's cameos as the dead guy (Alex) in The Big Chill & as one of the frat boys partying @ the morgue in Night Shift... too funny!

nazz 06-01-03 11:29 PM

Clint Eastwood

Robert Deniro

Deb 06-03-03 11:47 AM

Singhal 06-08-03 07:11 PM

arrgh! this guzzlefish is incredible!!! I feel like a greased Scotsman - nary a DVD (w/ a UPC code) can escape me!

oh yeah, re: the question - there are about 10 guys and girls brutely fighting it out for my first place choice as favorite actor.

btw the greased scotsman thing was in reference to Simpsons; it might disturb some if it popped up from the dark recesses of my mind for me to share.

Coupon_Queen 06-08-03 10:33 PM

John Cusack for me. My husband and I both appreciate his work.

Christina

bsktballDude1 06-08-03 10:40 PM

Jim Carrey with 8 of his films is number 1.

DVDealer 06-09-03 12:04 AM

Are we counting TV series as well? If so, I'd probably have to have the stars of X-Files and Star Trek NG on my list having all seven season sets for each of them in addition to the movies that have been released for those series.

I'm guessing it would be Patrick Stewart on a number of other DVDs beside the above such as:

Dune
X-Men
X-Men 1.5
Moby Dick
Prince of Egypt
Lifeforce
Excalibur
Conspiracy Theory

lewzer76 06-09-03 03:36 AM

Robert DeNiro 12
Al Pacino 11
Brad Pitt 9
Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Sean Penn all tied at 6
