Why does it say "original uncut version" for It's a wonderfull life"?

It said this on the box when I looked at it. Is the NBC tv version cut up or something?

Yeah they had to edit out the orgy scene for TV.

No... but when the movie was public domain up till the mid-90's, several vhs versions (and tv versions) were cut to fit in 2 hours.

As public domain, distributors had the right to do what they pleased with it. This is no longer the case.

Is the dvd decent at least. I have seen parts on nbc, and for the most part, it looked very clean.

It's gorgeous - as if the movie was created today.
