Here's a list of my favorite director's films that are not currently available here in region 1:

Lifeboat
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Number 13
The Paradine Case (the anchor bay edition is now out of print)
The Pleasure Garden
Stage fright
Suspicion

Rumored to be going out of print:

Are you sure about the Criterions? Criterion just released their new Hitchcock box set with all those movies this month!

Also, for anyone looking for it, I've seen the Paradine Case DVD at Kmart/Walmart often. It's readily available on eBay for under $10.

We NEED Dial M for Murder!

The Spellbound, Notorious, and Rebecca Criterion dvds will be going OOP in 2004. MGM will then acquire the rights to them. I'm sure part of the reason why Criterion put together the box set is to sell as many copies of those movies as they can before they lose the rights.

During an online chat with Warner Bros a few weeks ago, I asked the question about Dial M for Murder and other Hitchcock titles by Warner Bros. The reply was to expect a big promitional push in 2004 for Warner Hitchcock titles. Hopefully will be a box set including :
Dial M For Murder
Suspicion
The Wrong Man
Stage Fright
Mr and Mrs Smith
Foreign Correspandant

Very cool. Hopefully I confess will be in that box set since it's a WB film.

Now someone needs to get on fox about lifeboat
