Alien: Quadrilogy Date - November 11th

Just saw this:

Alien Quadrilogy to be on sale November 11 at a price around $100. My wife's gonna kill me - "But you already have those movies in a box set!"

http://www.creature-corner.com/dvd/may12alienbox.php3

(They apparently got this info from DVDSoon.com, so who knows if this is accurate)

Does the Indy set come out on that day as well?

We still don't know if they will release the films individually, although my guess is not.

Follow that link... That's ~ $92 Canadian or ~ $68 US pre-ordered from DVDSoon... Not as bad as the $100 retail mark should you choose to go that route. Should be able to find it in the $65 to $70 range here in the States.

Regardless, I'll be waiting for the reviews to come in first... I'd also be curious about individual releases.

You guys took the words right out of my mouth. Nov is "ca'ching" month for me also.

Glad I waited on the Alien Quadrilogy/Tetralogy.

Even though I'm not as fond of the last two they'll we worthy additions to my budding collection.

I never bought the original box set or any of the movies. The only one that I am really interested in though is 2 and maybe a little with 1. The other 2 I could care less about. I have a feeling I may just have to try an e-bay auction that someone splits 'em up. If that happens.

I already own Alien & Aliens SE's I wouldn't upgrade unless we get a DTS track and Cameron or cast commentaries..Don't have much interest in picking up 3 & 4

What's people's opinion out there??

I have Alien and Aliens (I'm still keeping 'em, of course)and I'm definately picking up the box. Alien 3 has grown on me, so I no longer hate it And that leaves Alien Resurrection... hey, it's part of the boxset, so what the hell.

Does anyone know if the new Alien (first movie) will be released alone?

There is no sign yet that these will be released individually.

Were the movies released by themselves when the first set (Alien: Legacy) was released or did Fox wait a little while?

Eh, I plan on picking up the box set regardless. I'm one of the few that actually likes Alien: Resurrection (knowing it pales in comparison to the first two).

Rumored Looney Tunes DVD release too. Besides the expenses, are any of us going to leave the house all winter?

I haven't seen Alien 3 since it was in theatres and am curious if I re-evaluate it since seeing Se7en and Fight Club.

my wife either lets me...or most of the time, she wont even know what I got until months later...because I buy so many anyway.

cant wait for this box, and I keep telling myself to resist the urge to watch Alien until the new box arrives, and which I watch just about more than any other dvd.
gonna be a great month. hell, it's a great year period!

Well, I just sold my old Alien Legacy box set for $60 on eBay. My bonus 5th disk is currently bid up to only $15, but I'm hoping it finishes at $30-40, and then that will cover the cost of my new Alien Quadrilogy.

Ugh what is it with studios and releasing everything in November? I can't wait for this release though with all the other stuff I'm buying that month, when on earth will I have time to watch it all?

are these films being remastered or are they just re-releasing them in a "box" with a few more extras under a new fancy name Quadrilogy??

They are being reworked completely from my understanding.

I guess my biggest question is about part 2. I'd love to own the box set, but are they going to use the branching technology for Aliens? I have seen both the theatrical and director's cut many times, and I enjoy the theatrical cut better. I feel it's better paced and cutting out the early stuff on LV really kept the mood in line. Here's hoping.

Argh, I may have to sit this one out. I will have plenty to watch with Indy and LOTR, and I already bought the Alien Legacy box. However, if the new Aliens DVD has the theatrical cut and is sold seperately, I will have to pick it up.

Nov is going to kill my wallet because I want LOTR, Indy, and Alien, but what is really going to kill it is the fact I will probably have to buy each of these again for people for Xmas that wants them as gifts. To bad there is no bulk purchase discount
