Anyone getting Hitcher II?

From Dvdplanet.com:

Synopsis: Still haunted by the frightening events of his past, Jim Halsey goes back to West Texas to confront his demons. Joined by his girlfriend, Maggie, the two soon find themselves traveling down the same desolate stretch of road where the original nightmare began. After encountering a psychotic hitchhiker, Jim and Maggie soon discover that their journey has turned into a relentless race for survival!

I haven't seen it but the original was always a favorite of mine and it's good to see C. Thomas Howell "working" again.

Mike Myers, Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees die and die again, why not Rutger Hauer?

Anyway when is Deadlock gonna be released?

I could be tempted to give it a go at the right price, but although C. Thomas Howell is still in it, the lack of Rutger Hauer proves a sore point for me... Hhhmmmmmm......

I agree about the price situation, currently the lowest price is about $18. For a movie that hasn't aired anywhere they sure are asking a lot of veiwers, then again how else can they make money?

I will definitely pass. The original is a welcome addition to my collection. Preordered it immediately when it was announced. However, part 2, based on the synopsis, sounds like crapola. What a dumb idea, IMO.

I believe that Rutger did some work in this. Maybe just a cameo, but I do believe he's in there.

kari wuhrer is hot... but in that picture on the cover she seems a little too confident. A long cry from jennifer jason leigh's white trash turn in the original.

I loved the first one, but this one will most likely be a rental for me.

This looks bad. I'll rather spring for the 2-disc Hitcher SE coming out in R2 in June!

A rental isn't an option for me as I'm in the UK. But you just know that DVDSoon will drop the price to $8.98 CAD at some point

Maybe a rental? The first one was excellent? It's a shame that R1 isn't getting the 2-disc SE of the original. What a shame indeed...

I watched H2 last night and I think it is pretty good, although I would have done things a little differently. The only thing I had a problem with is that after 17 years Jim (C. Thomas Howell) still hasn't gotten over his previous dealings with a murdering Hitch-hiker. The past is so overbearing that it effects his personal and proffesional life.

It would have been much better if Jim became a police officer in Texas, was married and a father and another new charachter is driving through Texas and picks up a psycho who causes trouble similar to Jim's experience years ago. Jim and the hitcher would eventually face off. You know something along those lines.

Didn't Rutger Hauer's character die in the first one?

I haven't yet seen the first one, but "Hitcher II" is fun. 90-minute flick: the first hour has some fine action and clever twists, although the last half-hour slowed a bit and was kind of predictable. Still, entertaining. Big problem for a purchase (at least for me): absolutely no features, not even a trailer. Only some language choices and scene menu. A bit pricey for that, it seems.

Yes his charachter (Jon Ryder ) was killed but I think what Squirrel God may have meant is that it's just can't be as good without Rutger Hauer.

We've got a thread that lists everyone's purchases every week. Closing duplicate.
