Leon: The Professional disc replacement?

Sorry if this has been discussed already...I did a search here and couldn't come with any pertinent threads.

I recently acquired a DVD of Leon: The Professional International uncut version. I then discovered that I have the initial pressing, which has a faulty DD 5.1 audio track. Can anyone tell me if there's a replacement disc program in place and if so, where I might surf or write to start the process?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks...
Phil

How do you know if you have the faulty 5.1 track. I bought this title a month ago, haven't watched yet.

The recent review here said to look on the back of the case and see if the words "newly created 5.1 track" are there. On mine they are not. But what cinched it was when I put the bar code in on my DVDProfiler...there were 2 instances of this disc and mine was the one without the fixed track.

I have a feeling if you only bought this last month that you have a good chance of having the fixed track...

I had that problem with the faulty audio track a few years ago. I exchanged at Amazon with no problem. You may want to take it back where you bought it from.

Thanks, HoNuts...unfortunately I received this in a trade. Not that the guy was being sneaky or anything...I don't think either of us knew. So I'm a bit out of luck with returns. And Best Buy, etc. are a bit stricter than they once were about returns with no receipts.

All things considered, I may have to just hope that the Dolby 2.0 track is at least a good one...

Funny you said that!
Here's a past thread about this very topic that claims the 2.0 track is superior to the the 5.1 track anyway.

Hope the info helps. :)

Thanks, John. Much obliged for making feel much better about it. I was going to watch it this past weekend and decided to wait to see if I could get a replacement disc. I've found that ProLogic mixes are still often quite good, anyway, but I enjoy the specificity of a great 5.1 mix, so I was hesitant. Now I feel more willing to take a chance.

Gracias...

Sheesh! Didn't know about this! Just checked my R1 copy that I bought here in the UK and it has the remastered 5.1 track :hump:

Oh man, now I have to get my Leon disc replaced :(. Going to have to buy a whole new one and keep the messed up one since I would feel bad selling the bad one. :(

Aaww, listen there's nothing bad about selling it on to someone for a few bucks if you're up front with them about it. Someone will always want to buy it for the right price -smile-

For those that do not know, the original Professional had bad rear channels. This happened almost two or three years ago. Shortly afterwards a new repressing was done to correct the mistake.

The original disc is UPC number 4339604730
The fixed release is 4339606196
