dvd case woes
 

Just got my Die Hard 5 Star from Columbiahouse. It's just that the plastic on the front of the case is really wrinkled, plus, when I took off the security stickers, one tore off part of the UPC sticker on the back which makes it look pretty crappy. Is there any easy way I can smooth out the front and/or get the UPC sticker off on the back (it's really stuck on there)?

You'll have to just try peeling it off gently. Probably there will be damage no matter what. That leaves you with 3 options: Live with it, print out a replacement cover, or exchange it for a new one. If it was me, I'd probably opt to exchange it - Damage like that annoys me.

Well, in case anyone's interested, I got the UPC off by scraping as much off as I could with my fingernail (took about 10 minutes) and then using Goo Gone on whatever I couldn't get off.

Still don't know how to get those wrinkles out though. Doesn't anyone have any suggestions on how to reduce them? I don't want to send it back and have to wait several weeks just for something like that.

You might want to try using a hair dryer. It worked pretty good getting the wrinkles out of the plastic that goes over my windows.

And for getting stickers off of DVD cases...baby oil breaks the glue down better then anything i have ever tried.

I hate to say it but I think all of the DIe Hard 5 Stars are wrinkled covers. I sent mine back only to receive another set with a wrinkle problem as well.

Yep my Die Hard are wrinkled to hell as well. Still waiting for some great ones to be put up on DVDCoverart. I'm surprised more customs have not been attempted, as I thought this was a pretty damn popular trilogy?

That's strange, my Die Hard DVD's were just fine. Did you guys buy them as a set or separately?

Mine were bought as a set.

I'd exchange it also.
