Schindlers List not on DVD?

I was just thinking of some good movies I need on DVD, and Schindlers List came to mind. So I look online and find nothing, is this available at all? Seems kind of weird an "important" movie like this is not on DVD.

No. It isn't out on DVD yet. Perhaps end of the year or next year.

(...btw: a lot of at-least-as-important movies aren't out on DVD...)

You might want to check out the thread for "frequently asked questions" at the top of this forum - the info is right there.

exactly my thoughts...as important this film is there a number of other releases that are not yet as well.

Well, when will Indy be released... sigh....

dantes 05-06-03 04:10 PM

Hi there, once I'd asked that question and wasn't as lucky as you are now... :D

no news yet about it...

Oops, sorry, I didnt expect that to be an FAQ, I'll know better next time. Thanks for the info thoug. Schindlers List Criterion would be nice.

Tyler_Durden 05-07-03 04:52 PM

The FAQ is badly outdated. There's been a lot of talk about this at HTF recently, and here's what the current issue of Empire Magazine said:

To mark the film's tenth anniversary, Schindler's List is finally making its debut on DVD later this year, and sounds like it will be worth the wait. Among the rumoured special features are a filmmaker's diary, on-location featurettes, deleted scenes and commentary by stars Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Kingsley. Most enticing of all - but yet to be confirmed, obviously - is that Steven Spielberg is said to be breaking his silence and finally laying down his first talk track.

If you're refering to Indiana Jones, November. :)

Isn't it just as irritating to see someone post a message that says, "This has been posted before!" or "Read the FAQ"?

If I see a post that has already been made, I just skip it. Sometimes, a repeat post is good. I've been reminded about a few things this way.

Are the original Star Wars films on DVD yet? I saw some on Ebay, are they real?

hee hee

Nice, but hardly necessary. This DVD is bound to get a fairly "special" treatment, no matter who puts it out.

reservoirdog 05-09-03 11:40 AM

I think Spielberg is trying to find a way to give the DVD away, as opposed to having it for sale. Maybe find a corporate sponsor (like Ford's presentation of the film uncut on NBC) or maybe by teaming up with the Jewish-American league and their endless supply of money and sponsors.

DVD Polizei 05-09-03 01:55 PM

reservoirdog,

I kinda doubt that. If anything, all the proceeds will be given to the official museum in DC and maybe abroad. I do hope they will include the ~1hr or so documentary on the second disc.
