Great, that movie's really dumb but also really funny.

I just wish there'd be a rerelease of Take the Money and Run to go with it.

I wonder if it will have the censored dialogue as the foreign releases do.

Unfortunately the current Take the Money and Run disc (which is pretty good) is an Anchor Bay release.

I was wondering that too. The original release had a much better soundtrack compared to the Anchor Bay video release (which had a completely different track with somewhat cleaner dialogue that wasn't quite as funny). There are big differences in the dialogue on these two tracks. An old Video Watchdog article described the differences in detail.

There doesn't seem to be a current one (OOP, as far as I can tell).

This is slightly OT, but I was just over at the IMBD trying to look up what the name of the original movie was, and the IMDB says it's this:

Kokusai himitsu keisatsu: Kagi no kagi

Anyway, if you go to that page, it has this review:

scottbaiowulf
Shinjuku

Date: 20 March 2000
Summary: If you are the lover of Austin Powers, you must see this!!!

Mihashi Tatsuya maked 3 of the Kokusai himitsu keisatsu films but the firsts is best!

When I was in school I saw over and over, and all that year I want to give of the karate chops and "snag" with the girls like as in the movie! I also try to maked the gadgets and almost burn my house!

It is a lot like James Bond but more funny. The movie is so popular that America made another one of it, starring Woodsy Allen!!!

I just checked the HTF discontinued DVD list and indeed you are correct. I would guess that Anchor Bay still hold the rights to it, though I could be wrong.

In any case, I'm looking forward to this upcoming release.

"scottbaiowulf"

I'll be the first to admit that this guy's English is better than my Japanese, but damn, reading that post really amuses me.

And yes, the original film is "Kagi no Kagi" (Key of Keys)
