Night and Fog Criterion-Will you be buying this?

One of the defining movies about the
Holocaust and possibly the most disturbing film in the Criterion library because it was real.

Amazon has this up with an
MSRP of $14.95.

Granted, it's only a 30 minute film,
but I will be buying this.

I'm curious about the extras.

Definately a MUST SEE film IMO.

BUT don't expect to be entertained.

Any opinions?

Yes I will. Even the more reason to watch it.

Criterion said they're planning on doing more short movies like this.

I wish they had included this in the Hiroshima,Mon Amour release of the same day - it would have been a very nice extra. As it is, I already have it on the Short Cinema (#4,I think) which includes a commentary.

I'm sure I'll buy it. It should cost around 10 bucks, shipped, from some e-tailers.

...like I mentioned in another post on this release, I think that there are quite a few people (myself included) who do not care to own Hiroshima, Mon Amour but would love a Criterion release of Night and Fog. While a great movie, I don't have any desire to watch Hiroshima again. It just doesn't have much replay value in my eyes. I'd rather just re-read the play.

...I think it's a great idea on Criterion's part... I wouldn't pay the $30 just for N&F... but I'll gladly pick up the short on its own individual release for $10...

Couldn't care less about extras etc..for a feature of this magnitude it's a definately 'must own' for me and have had it on pre-order for a a few weeks now.

This film truly belongs in the Criterion catalog.

Will be picking this up from DVDPlanet.

for what it is worth, this film has been on DVD since 1998. Not in a pristinely remastered form mind you, but available nonetheless on the 2nd issue of the SHORT DVD series. There is also a nice alternate audio track for the film by film historian David Sheppard (check your Image Entertainment classic films, if they have a DS in their catalog # they came from David Sheppards collection). 2 versions of this disc out there....not sure the second version has the film or commentary.

I love the clean and simple cover-art. Truly Criterion! I already have Wrong Men And Notorious Women on-pre-order due to the great price at DVDPlanet. I might just get this one too.

I'm getting it. I saw it on the big screen about a year ago and was overwhelmed.
