why is Bowling for Columbine delayed?
If anyone knows I'd appreciate it, thanks!
Since this was announced in the midst of awards season fever, it was decided that a postponement was in order so that more extras could be included on the disc. Since winning the Oscar, Michael Moore has been busier than ever...expect a late summer release...
It was delayed because Bush wants to screw with the Moore some more. ;) Presidents orders. :p
It's also running in some theatres again as a result of winning the Oscar which is another reason I believe. (Not that I'd ever go see it)
Probably so Moore can put a 50 minute featurette on him ranting about Bush and the government.
Or put his thoughtful, intelligent acceptance speech on the DVD. |
Come on, let's stick to the topic at hand.
Because it's an evil plo... dagnabbit Pig!! And I had a good one too! ;)
Probably so they can run it in the theaters a little longer and milk some more box office revenue out of it.
I would think so that everyone will have forgotton all about Moore making an ass of himself.
"Shame on you Mr. Bush." rotfl |

With the Oscar win, he and his financial backers simply wanted to ride the cash cow of a theatrical rerelease before putting out the DVD. All debate of Mr. Moore's politics or fading talent as a filmmaker aside, they are normal capitalists just like the rest of us and want mo' money.
Hopefully they pushed it back so they can release Roger and Me and Big One as SEs along with it. As a side note, I had no idea there were so many facist DVD collectors...
Because its a bunch of crap full of factual errors intended only to increase the size of the director's wallet?

I had no idea there were so many "post-modern" know-nothings who believe that "truth" is whatever they want it to be and if they say something is long and loud enough that makes it so. Of course, with the state of Government education these days, its inevitable that many don't even realize that "documentary" is synonomous with "factual" and "objective".
Maybe the more time that passes between his Oscar speech, the more people will forget his inappropriate comments. I for one refuse to watch any of his schlockumentaries.
I truly hope the dvd does poorly. |
Exactly what I said about 10 posts up. :)
It probably is being held up so he can add his own propaganda to it. It's definately not going to garner a larger following because of the delay. If anything it will give him more oppurtunities to open his big mouth and drop sales.

To quote from studiobrief, which appears on IMDB: "on his website www.michaelmoore.com, Michael Moore, who created an uproar when he attacked Bush's policies upon receiving an Oscar last month, claimed that, far from experiencing a backlash, ticket sales for his movie increased 110 percent, the number of theaters showing it also increased, his book Stupid White Men shot to #1 on the New York Times' best-seller list, more people pre-ordered his movie Bowling for Columbine on Amazon.com than the Best-Film winner Chicago, he received funding to make his next documentary [from Mel Gibson's production company], and he has received an offer to do a new television series." |
