Very excited about of unknown origin. I have been tempted to find a used copy on vhs.

It's nice to see carpenter's invisible man is finally on dvd. Will almost complete my carpenter collection soon. Neat.

Not all those eastwoods are worth picking up (Hello, pink cadillac? Yikes) but I am looking forward to some of them.

The haunting. Finally.

And of course, the boy who could fly. One of my favorites when I was an adolescent.

Sunday Morning 04-12-03 04:54 PM

Cool. Three of my most wanted (The Haunting, Omega Man, and Soylent Green) all on the same day (especially The Haunting, which is one of my top 5 most wanted). A few others I'd like as well (the Chaplin titles, the Thing, and some others).

As far as coming in snappers, I'm not partial to them, but I'd take these if they came in a paper sleeve.

ProjectMayhem 04-12-03 07:08 PM

I plan on buying quite a few of those, but the one I'd like the most (for some odd reason) is:

07/15/2003 $44.98 Friends: The Complete Fourth Season (DVD)

On my birthday too! I love the fast release unlike the other ones!

Rammsteinfan 04-12-03 07:17 PM

Definitely getting Critters 1 & 2, Memoirs of Inv Man, Vacation 20th Anniv, Iron Giant SE, Are you being Served Set 2!

What is the THING 50th Anniv? I know its not JC's THE THING (1982) which deserves more and better but it cant be THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD (1951) unless its 2 years late... what other THING is there?

ernestrp 04-12-03 07:35 PM

I think it must be:

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0044121

angryyoungman 04-12-03 07:41 PM

07/01/2003 $19.98 Start the Revolution without Me (DVD)
08/05/2003 $19.98 Soylent Green (DVD)

07/01/2003 $29.95 Modern Times (Dbl DVD) + the other Chaplin classics!!!!!

 Two of my most-wanted unreleased titles and some must-see Chaplin classics! Let's cross our fingers for no snappers and decent cover artwork (down with BIG HEADS!). :)

That's what I figured but it is past the 50th Anniversary...

Rypro 525 04-12-03 08:33 PM

Where's the 20th anniversery of Risky Buisness dvd as well??? I saw that when Showtime airs this, it is in both hdtv (I think the current disc is 16x9 but not sure) and 5.1 while the dvd is only 2.0. Plus, its 1:85 so showtime is showing it in its oar.

Bacon 04-12-03 08:46 PM

yes the current DVD of Risky Business is anamorphic and the a/ is actually decent

Panda Phil 04-12-03 08:52 PM

Aww man, why do they have to announce these so far in advance though? Gonna be a looooong summer. :/

Cosmic Bus 04-12-03 09:04 PM

I might pick up Memoirs of An Invisible Man, although I don't really care for Carpenter's goofier movies. Aside from that, there's nothing of interest to me on the list. *shrug*

Excelesor 04-12-03 09:22 PM

I just hope that WB will change from snapper and be like everyone else

munedaddy 04-12-03 10:32 PM

The House of Wax also includes the original 1933 Technicolor version The Mystery of the Wax Museum. Nice extra.

yeah and if it were Warner's ya know for sure as hell they wouldn't release the 85 minute UNRATED version of "Leatherface", which IS available on VHS as such.

uh... looks like alot of BBC tv series are getting released... where's "Flame Trees of Thika", the "French & Saunders" episode where they parody "Fellowship of the Ring"?!

cool Teletubbies! break out the weed!

Scott27 04-12-03 11:29 PM

According to DVDFile, Leatherface will be an SE, with a new docu, and more.

and according to DVDFile this release IS from New Line. Let's now hope NL doesn't do what they did to "Nightmare on Elm Street 5" and release the edited 'R-rated' version and not the unrated cut, which would be just plain dumb and insulting to all us TCM fans.

Whoooooooohoooooooooo! Soylent Green finally on DVD!! Finally. I've waited for quite some time for this. Pity I paid so much for that laserdisc just last year. The warner disc may not have the little featurette on it that the laser had.

shill66 04-13-03 02:04 AM

Oh man, August 5 is going to be PAINFUL to my wallet.

funkymonk 04-13-03 02:52 AM
