ER amd Smallville Complete First Seasons coming this year

From DVDFILE:

Rounding out today's news, word has just come in from Warner Home Video to watch for - at long last - E/R: The Complete First Season and Smallville: The Complete First Season in late summer/early fall. Specs for these sets are not yet available, but as always, watch this space!

(I am just speechless at E/R FINALLY COMING OUT.)

Now if we can get Small Wonder, Punky Brewster, and Degrassi Junior High...

I don't think you mean E/R, that was a different show from 1984(also starring George Clooney):

E/R Info

You meant ER. ;)

GatorDeb 04-03-03 12:12 PM

I knew there were two but I didn't know the official way the title appeared, so I took the initiative from the original poster.

I'm going to call it EER - Edwards-ER :D

And actually isn't it er and not ER? If you look at the beginning of the eps it's not capitalized :)

w00t! Definitely looking forward to the Smallville set.

I will be getting the Smallville set. Not so sure on er. I watched the show religiously back then (I recall being in New Orleans on a convention trip and having others in my party mad at me because I delayed our trip to Bourbon Street to watch er that first season), but I haven't watched the show in years now (and, in some ways, the early episodes are less interesting knowing what happens in later seasons, at least for a show like er).

Great news for two great tv shows. I'll be looking forward to more info as the year goes on. :)

I noticed the original post after I submitted mine. But I thought hey you could have meant E/R with the rest of your want list it fits right in. :)

See, this is what I don't get. Degrassi Junior High is out on VHS. Why doesn't the owner of the rights burn it onto DVD and put it out? I don't care about the quality. I'd pick up the set. It's already there... I love extras but would rather have a boxset with no extras than no boxset at all. Just pick up a few blank DVDRs, burn the Degrassi Junior High VHS tapes on them, package it, and sell it. I'll be buying a set.

Does anyone know if the Punky Brewster episodes are stored anywhere? I don't think they were even put on VHS. Is there ANY hope that they will come out, even 10, 20 years from now?

i believe it is on vhs but not as the complete series. i am not totally sure but i believe i remember seeing it as a best of-ish type collection.

SCHMEGGA 04-04-03 12:16 AM

I just hope they throw in the pilot of Smallville along with the set. I don't want to have to go get the pilot seperate. Call me lazy! :p

SCHMEGGA 04-04-03 12:16 AM

My Bad! Deleted.

SergeantPinback 04-04-03 12:51 AM

I would love to get just the pilot for ER. That stands as 2 hours (or just over 90 minutes without commercials), of the best television ever broadcast. Not surprisingly it works so well on its own, as it was originally intended to be a feature film.

Why wouldn't they? Unless your thinking of the original pilot for HBO which was altered for The WB. It's not much different though except for Martha Kent and a few altered scenes.

Any clue on what the retail price will be?

JJE-187 04-04-03 03:35 AM

Hopefully we get about 3 seasons of er a year. I love that show.
Now if WB would release a Birds Of Prey set WITH the original pilot, Iwould e happy

ah, a fellow fan of the show everyone else considers crap. and does wb even have the rights to the show?

Patman 04-04-03 02:19 PM

Considering WB owns DC comics, and the show aired on the WB, I'd wager heavily that WB owns the rights to BoP as well.
