is this DVD any good?

is it worth it's weight in gold?

Kudos must go to Paramount for giving one of the better films of the 1970's its just due on the format we know and love. Two commentary tracks, a short vintage featurette, and a nice anamorphic transfer should make lovers of The Conversation very happy.

JustinS - excellent review of a great dvd of one of the best films of the 70s. Coppola says it is his favorite of his "personal" films. Hackman is incredible as always.

thanks for the review Justin! :)

Great film & Great DVD

My favorite film by by FFC. Nice anamorphic transfer & 2 very good commentary tracks.

Fantastic movie! I really wish more people knew about it, since it kinda got lost in the shadow of The Godfather II. The opening shot alone is a masterpiece. The reason I like Enemy of the State is primarily its seeming link to the Conversation.

i agree. my vote for the perfect movie, and the DVD is not a let down. i'm impressed with what paramount does on coppola discs

The movie is great as is the DVD. If you're unsure about whether or not you would like the film, AMC has been airing it pretty regularly (next showing is March 12) so you could check it out there first.

A masterpiece, a classic, a must own!

This is one of the best movies ever made. The DVD is in my top 5 of the 75 I own. For a 1974 movie, the picture and sound are outstanding. The extras just make it that much better.

Uhh, it's a rather large role.

A more appropriate question would be "Did you notice Robert Duvall in this movie?". Not hard to notice him either, but at least his role is smaller and his appearance is uncredited.
