Nice picture, great sound, good movie.

I rented this film today not really knowing what to expect. I was in the mood for a good suspense, pyscho-thriller, but I wasn't to sure about the casting. I had touble seeing Keanu Reeves as a psycho killer, and not being a fan of James Spader I really couldn't see him in the lead role. I was pleasantly suprised. Keanu does a good job as a killer, and Spader plays a "drugged out" cop. The drug part suits him. If your a fan of film likes Copycat and Seven, its definately worth a rental, if not a purchase.

Fans of special features will be disappointed. There is just a trailer, some production notes and cast bios. There is a new Universal dvd commercial, though. They have changed the way they present the clips.

I also am a big fan of serial killer flicks and thoroughly enjoyed this flick. My wife is a big James Spader fan so that didn't hurt either. I didn't mind the lack of extras but was a bit disappointed that it didn't include a DTS soundtrack like many other new releases from Universal.

Watched it last night. I rented it well aware of the bad reviews it got, so I knew somewhat to expect. I thought it was OK. The plot was decent, but the ending was contrived and the acting was pretty bad. It sounded good though...

This Movie was Da Bomb. I always love watching a enjoyable good thriller and this one totally fitted the bill. First of all my favorite actor Keanu was in it and he was pretty good as a bad guy. The story was pretty good and overall it was a good film to watch. Since im like the only ones who loves to watch Keanu Reeves movies i enjoy all of them, but i know that there are many who dont, so to those of you dont pass this one up, it'll be a pleasant surprise.

I will be the only dissenting opinion here. There were elements of a good story, but did not work for me. If the main characters, Reeves and Spader, had switched roles it might have worked better. The MTV direction and arty camera moves were distracting. Tomei was wasted in the typical female in danger role (as a psycho-therapist? give me a break. Who next, Lorraine Bracco?) Keanu was totally miscast, totally. Just my 2 cents.

"The Watcher"...close your eyes, and take a nap!

why? why? why?
This is the word that haunted me long after the house lights came up after the film.
Why tourture loyal thriller fans with a film so flat,
so lifeless, and moreover, so ineptly conceived.
For those of you entertaining actually WATCHING this film,
my words have fallen upon deaf ears. Sure the performances are good, but why bother...content baby, is where it's at.
I prefer my swiss cheese on a good sandwich, not on the silver screen. I take that back, swiss cheese has far less holes in it then "THE WATCHER'S" screenplay. WATCH if you dare, better off...check out "THE BONE COLLECTOR" instead, if you haven't already done so.
