Strange plot that always intrigued and made me want to see this movie...
Is it actually a good movie or just morbid and disturbing?

I remember Kim Basinger signed and then dropped out of the movie when it was being made way back when.

if you seriously want to see this movie, DO NOT READ THE ABOVE POST! it details the plot step by step, a very bad review indeed.

Is Boxing Helena a good movie? Hell No.

But I like it anyway and have it preordered. The first time I saw it I thought it was a lot of campy (and sometimes shocky) fun. It is the only film that the daughter, Jennifer Chambers Lynch, of one of my favorite filmmaker's, David Lynch, has ever made. I cannot make myself defend this film to people who think it is utterly awful, except to say I thought it was fun and enjoyed it awfulness. I am excited to see it again. After selling off all of my vhs collection this was one of the titles I was afraid would never come to dvd, and I am GLAD that it is.

This is definitely one of those "so bad it's good" movies - you won't be bored! Can't wait for the DVD!

I think this was an interesting, though somewhat twisted, idea behind this movie (the nature of a certain type of relationship). Unfortunately, interesting ideas do not equal an interesting or quality movie.

What you derive from a film depends very much on what you bring to it. It allows you to focus emotionally on things you already know. It brings things to a point.

It was long enough ago that I don't remember any specifics, but I rented this once and found it totally dull and disappointing. It was almost like Jennifer was trying to make a "weird" movie like her dad, but she didn't have any of his natural genius and wit to pull it off.

I'll have to agree with the 'so bad it's good' thought. I liked it. Sherilyn Fenn is awesome and it is pretty twisted. It's probably a good movie to get drunk to.

Sounds like a left-handed compliment to me. Regardless, I can't wait for this film to come out. I laugh my ass off everytime I watch it. It's so surreal, it's just like a dream.

This film is worth seeing just for Sherilyn Fenn. She does a damn good job, and she gets naked a lot. I had no idea this was coming out on DVD. I may get it.

An arty suspenseful film that makes you wonder where people get these ideas from. I liked it, even though it was over seven years ago I saw it. Two thumbs up for the detailed mise en scene, and the editing of the film. A must for my DVD collection.

Believe me, it isn't a left-handed compliment, nor a compliment of any kind. Not even Sherilyn's breasts can save this film.

Jennifer did do a great job writing Laura Palmer's diary...I wish I had bought a copy of that while I had the chance. I think they go on Ebay for mucho dinhero now.
