I've finally seen it, although in further review I'm sure that I can say I was glad I did...
After the first tweny minutes I became depressed. It was an intense movie, an emotional roller coster that left me both sad and happy at the same time in the end, if that's possible. I think it could have been better if Spacey's beginning dialogue hadn't clued the audience in on his death. I'm sure the ending would have been much more enjoyable for me then.
I became intrigued with the rose petals from their first show, and still wonder what the symbolism was there...

Yeah, I liked this movie because it shows just how easy it is to let your life fall into the same ol' crap routine so that you don't even care anymore.
By movie end, I wanted to slit my wrists but I fought the urge.....seriously.

I was driving into work this morning and saw a plastic bag caught up in the wind while stuck at a red light. I wish I had a video camera at at the time

I think that the rose petals indicate fantasy, whereas live (freshly cut whole) roses indicate reality.
Other opinions, or those more in-depth would be appreciated.

I thought the roses meant what he wanted, and how we achieve it. I havn't seen American Beauty in a few weeks, so I might pop it in and give it another go (I really enjoy AB)
