I was debating on whether or not to purchase this title for my six year old son. Is the movie as dumb as the previews made it look or is it worse? http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/wink.gif

I got a chance to look at the DVD late last week. I agree with you that the trailers looked kinda bad, but the actual movie wasn't that bad. In my review I said "a movie that children will enjoy and that parents won't hate sitting through."

It's certainly not high art, but I was suprised to find it moderately entertaining. Very nice DVD too. Great picture quality and a commentary.

I'd have to disagree. I thought the movie was simply awful. I watched it with my son (age 7) and my daughter (age 9) and they were simply bored. The trailers give you a false impression and makes this look like a kids film. It's not. The whole film revolves around a teenage boy who is in love with the most popular girl in school. This is probably a movie that kids and adults can both be bored with together!

"What's the point? They are all the same. Some stupid killer stalking some big-breasted girl who can't act whose always running up the stairs when she should be going out the front door. It's insulting." Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) explains to the killer why she doesn't like horror movies in "Scream."

hm...i disagree. i thought the movie was pretty good, and definitely at least worth a rent.

it deals with kids and teens, each with their own subplot, so the teen is interested in the girl, and the little kids are going after snowplowman.

it's a fun movie that definitely is catered towards kids, and appeals to the kid at heart in anyone. no one wins awards for any acting or plot, but the story moves along at the quick pace, and there are some comedic moments.

the movie will probably appeal more if you've ever had the snow day syndrome yourself growing up. it reminds you of when you were a kid. i highly recommend it.

My eight year old daughter and I watched this one tonight. It is a coming of age film. It tries to tell the multiple stories of one family. Most of the comedy falls flat on its face. There are touching moments, but all in all quite a tepid film. My daughter liked it, but I was bored and couldn't wait for it to end. Suprisingly, Chevy Chase was good and Get A Life's Chris Elliott was awful. The Video is quite good and audio is great.
