...well, since this Disney feature cartoon was originally released in 1949 - several years before the advent of widescreen movies of any kind - the DVD will be full-screen ... in those far-off days the sound, of course, was glorious mono, but they may have - in fact, they probably will have - doctored it to create some pseudo-stereo, or - even worse - pseudo DD 5.0, or - worse yet - pseudo DD 5.1 ... the disc will feature silkscreen printing on one side, it will probably contain several 'forced' trailers for other Disney DVDs, and that, probably, will be that ... it's a Disney DVD, after all!

...oh, yes, almost forgot: the disc will cost appreciably more than a DVD from any other studio!

now that this is available at CH, might we get a review from someone who's seen it? Thanks!

Disney DVDs have been progressively getting better, and this one is not bad. The history behind the movie, was that Disney was going bankrupt, the creditors were beating down his door after Pinochio failed to make a profit. So He put a bunch of shorts together and called them movies. "Icobad and Mr. Toad" was one of the better one's of the group. ("Make mine Music" was another one). I assume people are familiar with the two stories. There's a narrator to connect the two since they are totally unrelated stories. My Kids (4 and 2)like the Wind in the Willows story (Mr. Toad), but really didn't care for Sleepy Hollow (Icobad)which stands to reason given the ages, but they weren't horrified by it (My four year old refuses to watch "Mickey and the beanstalk"). The picture and sound are fine. There is a game in it, which you have to answer questions to get Mr. Toad's car to Toad Hall without getting any flat tires. Should you make it, you are rewarded with the short cartoon, "Suzie, the little blue coupe" I believe this is the first Disney DVD that doesn't require you to watch the beginning advertisements, but you can only access the cartoon short by playing the game. Basically, kids will enjoy the show. I got it with freeride points, so it was worth that much to me. Well, That the way I remember it.
