This is my first review in a couple of weeks but I should be getting back into the swing of things again shortly.

Deterrence, ultimately, is a great idea not so greatly realized. Shot with the tiny budget of $800,000, newcomer writer/director Rod Lurie confines the tense action to one room, a la 1957's 12 Angry Men. Kevin Pollack is surprisingly effective as the President, who must deal with an incredibly dicey international incident, and perhaps even launch nuclear weapons, while stranded in a Colorado diner.
