I tend to enjoy movies that have Sandra Bullock in them. Practical Magic, Speed, The Net(even if it was kinda hokey).
Saw this DVD in the store and was wondering how it is. I haven't seen the movie or heard much on it.

Thanks in advance.

It's not bad, but it's more of something I'd recommend as a "rent it first". I really like Bullock and think she's a good actress who just really needs the role to get back into where she was with "Speed".

"28 Days" just isn't that role though. It's the actress trying to get dramatic and doing fairly well in a movie that doesn't really have much of an "edge" and often doesn't seem realistic.

The DVD is the usual from Tristar; remarkably good picture quality and fine sound quality, a fun and informative commentary and a few other little features.

As much as I like Sandra Bullock....The Net, Hope Floats, Time To Kill......I cannot get myself to look at this movie!!! Others I refuse to watch with her are Speed one and two!!!!

Watched it last night and it's not such a great flick!

I'd say this is the kind of movie you want to watch when you bring honeyz over! In other words "A CHICK FLICK"! http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

After seeing Gun Shy a couple of months back on DVD I wasn't sure what to expect from 28 Days. It's not a great film, but definitely better than average. IMO, I'm taking a 50/50 chance everytime I pick up a Bullock movie. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/wink.gif

I thought the movie had an over-the-top feel to try to prove an "after school special" type point. There are events leading up to Bullock's "28 Days" that are so ridiculously unbelievable that the heart of the movie is lost within just a few minutes. And during the 28 days? More of the same unbelievable and flat out irritating stuff. In fact, when it was all said and done, I realized that I didn't like Bullock's character, and I really didn't care if she became a better person or if she found a better life. I just thought it was a poorly executed waste.

The bright spot was, of course, Steve Buscemi (sp?) who played it pretty straight and managed to show again what a great presence he is.

My girlfriend is a chick-flick fan, but we both disliked this movie quite a bit. I won't buy it, I won't rent it. Just a blah flick, IMO.

Glad I rented this instead of buying it! I really did not care for it. It seemed to just dragggg on. My wife did not like it either.

The best part of the disc was the special features section containing the soap opera (can't recall the name of it) filmed for use in the movie. My wife & I laughed at that more than the movie itself.
