Don't remember seeing this, but whats it like?

I suggest getting the tin. Its worth it for the soundtrack, plus if you look smartly, you can get it for about 24-29 bucks.. for a cd and a dvd, thats a good price. as for the dvd. its good quality dvd, sounds grand, the picture is way better then my old VHS. sure the story might be weak, but you can see cox's early work and future work in this sucker. plus seeing otto sing tv party is a grand grand moment. well worth it. the book inside might not be much, but the menus kick arse, the soundtrack rocks, and this sucker is a grand dvd.

well i suggest you renting it if you never seen it. it may be a movie that new film goers might not like. rent it first.

It's a comedy/sci-fi/punk/dialogue movie from the early 80's that became a cult movie over the years. I saw it when it came out in an art cinema theater, so it's kind of hard to categorize. It's also a movie that you notice more each time you see it ("day, night, it don't mean **** to me"). It's got a lot of great lines ("let's go get some sushi and not pay") & some pretty good actors. If you don't mind strange movies that aren't really trying to be realistic, but just be fun, you'd probably enjoy it. Great punk soundtrack, although compared to today's music it seems pretty tame. The basic plot is a young punk becomes a repo man, everyone's looking for a Chevy Malibu with dead aliens in the trunk driven by crazy scientist (government, other repo men). The trunk glows, but they never show the inside which is what Pulp Fiction ripped off with the glowing briefcase. Harry Dean Stanton has some great monologues driving around with Emilio Estevez. If you can rent it somewhere, maybe do that first. If not, I highly recommend it if what I described sounds interesting at all.

Thanks.. I think I'll see if I can find it somewhere to rent first.

Well, in Ronin, they never show you what's in the briefcase either... http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

All those films steal the briefcase/trunk concept from Robert Aldrich's great 1955 film Kiss Me Deadly. I feel like I read that this is coming out at some point, but I don't know.
