I got another chance to take a first look at a DVD this morning and it was John Cusack's wonderful film "High Fidelity". The movie is well-written, naturally and enjoyably acted and beyond all that, entertaining.

The DVD is good, but could have been better. Image quality is good, but not great, with a few flaws. The film is mainly dialogue-driven, but the songs on the soundtrack rock, and are presented very well on the DVD.

Although not a "special edition", Buena Vista has included more than their usual extras; we get 9 deleted scenes and a series of interview clips with Cusack and director Stephen Frears.

Not as good a DVD as it could have been, but a great movie definitely worth a look.

Also today, I looked at "Me Myself I", which is a small film starring Rachael Griffiths("Hilary and Jackie") that many may not have caught, but it's definitely worth a look.

Thanks for the review of Me Myself I. I'm a sucker for this type of fantasy. I loved Sliding Doors and liked Passion of Mind quite a bit. I hadn't seen Me Myself I but preordered it anyway (I almost never buy a movie I haven't seen). Your review has helped convince me that I won't be disappointed.

The direct link doesn't work, but if you go to the main page (www.currentfilm.com) you can find a link that does.

I enjoyed High Fidelity and I think the extras on the disc look promising. I checked out the 8 or so deleted scenes, but I haven't checked out the interviews with the Director and Cusack.

My screen is small, and my sound system sucks so I can't comment on the video and sound.

DVDRules1: I just got Me Myself I today and watched it with my wife. We both liked it a lot. Rachel Griffiths was wonderful and the story resolution was very satisfying. I think your review was right on the money. Thanks again.
