I now have two copies of the Miramax Collector's Series version of "The Cider House Rules" (The second copy provided, no questions asked, by Amazon.com, OBTW.) Both copies are missing two of the listed extras on dvd case label.
MISSING: Feature commentary track by Lasse Hallstrom, John Irving, and the producer.
MISSING: Cast and Crew Bios.

They are there. You have to go to the second page of the "special features" menu (or whatever it's called; I don't have it in front of me). From the first page of that menu you have to press the arrow right button.

I was listening to the commentary last night.

BTW, I think this should go in "DVD Talk."

Thanks, I missed that.

OK, I'll make this a review. The programming of this DVD is a little unconventional. The ">" symbol on the "Bonus Materials" is easy to miss.
Also, audio channels (languages, commentaries) are not selectable through the "Audio" button as they are on most every other DVDs I've seen.

Once again, thanks for your help.

You're welcome. And BTW, I agree wholeheartedly with your gripes about the menus and the lack of being able to just shuffle through the audio tracks while watching the film. Why do some studios seem to want to make everything more complicated and more difficult than it has to be?

That instantly made me think of the menus on the Ghostbusters DVD. What moron designed those? When will they learn that simple = good, complicated = bad?

The menus on Ghostbusters are child's play compared to those on Detroit Rock City.

Jim, you're not the only one!!!

I thought I had gotten a defective copy and was ready to return the DVD!! The little > sign is very easy to miss.

Disney really needs to make their menus more user friendly.
