Cool flick, kinda like Fight Club meets Office Space, or something like that.

One of my favorite movies of the year. It's really more of a comedy than horror and it is not for those who like a clear-cut plot wrapup at the end. If you like black comedies like Heathers you may enjoy it.

Oh yeah, it was also directed by a woman which is very interesting when you think about it.

American Psycho was a really good movie, definately more comedy than horror, but still pretty damned twisted in parts. Well written, well acted, and topped off by what I found to be a funny as hell ending sequence. (Not the very end, but you'll know what I mean if you see it.)

I got a question for all of you who saw this film.

Did you like Psyco? The one that came out a year or two ago? How would you compare the 2?

They both have PSYCHO in the name. And people die in both.

That's about all they have in common.

I assume you know the one that came out two years ago was a remake of the Hitchcock movie, right? Anyway, that's basically a suspense movie (as was the original Hitchcock), while AMERICAN PSYCHO is basically a (pitch) black comedy.

Yeah, I thought Psycho sucked. I just wanted to see if you guys also liked Psyco or thought it sucked. THat way I would have a better idea if I would like American Psycho.

that makes no sense. Why not find out if they like Armageddon, Go, and The Matrix too. The two movies you mention have nothing in common.

PS
If you're going to watch Psycho. Watch the original.

Now this has switched to Psycho vs. Psycho (2), and I have to comment, again. I saw Psycho years ago in my high school Sociology class, and while I expected to like the movie, I really did not. It was boring. Everyone said it was scary as hell, but I just wasn't scared at all. I never saw the remake, because it looked like it would suck sour frog ass.

The remake was pretty much the same thing except:
1)In color
2)The mood is worse
3)bad acting
4)the norman bates character becomes more "perverted."

American Psycho is really good. Very humorous at times and crazy at others.

It's in my pre-order list already.

Yes... you do get the pleasure to see some T&A is this movie as well.

Pre-order it; I'm sure you'll enjoy it, even if it is for the sole purpose of watching the T&A in it

Thanks for the info! How do you like CAD? I saw your response about your college education in the 'other' forum. I start Drafting Oct. 2nd. It's going to take a year to complete.

...heading to amazon for american psyco!

Well, CAD is fun for me. I have two semesters to go and I'll be getting my mastery. Does it pay any good to have a job in CAD?

mastery? How many years is that?
I have been told by the instructor that I should expect to start out at $15-16. Which is not bad. I'm hoping to get on with a good company, then go back to school and get some kind of REAL degree.

How about your pay?

To get some of the undercurrents of AP, you needed to have grown up in the 1980's. AP draws a lot from that era for its demented black comedy. It's a bit disturbing (not for the squeamish).
