I've never seen the DVD but understand that the transfer is one of the worst done by Disney. Look at DVDfile and DVDreview for a better explanation.

I was pretty disappointed with this DVD. Very grainy and fuzzy compared to other titles. It really looks like they just slapped a VHS transfer onto a DVD (which makes sense, since there never was a laserdisc of this film).

The disc is full frame (1.33:1) and I didn't notice anything to make me think that this wasn't correct. It was probably slightly matted (1.66:1) for theatrical distribution, but the framing seems fine on the DVD.

It's certainly watchable and if you love the film, the mediocre transfer shouldn't stop you from buying it. Just make sure to find it on sale and don't expect a stellar transfer.

As much as I'd love to get all of the animated Disneys as soon as possible, I think they really have to slow down and master these correctly. The last few have been pretty sad...

The transfer sucked. However, when I was little, this was my favorite movie.... wore out a tape of it even. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif ... Well, the transfer is bad. It's bearable though. And there's cute features on the DVD that I've shown to my little cousins and they love (like a read-along storybook)

Yes, the transfer could be better but since it was mostly for the kids I am not too worried about it!!! http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif
