WHY WILL NO ONE AT DVDTALK.COM REVIEW THIS??
I have searched in the archives in the Review section and no one has reviewed it, and there is no "official" review in dvdtalk.com's Review site.

And now, nobody has posted a review to my plea! What is wrong with you people?!? It seems like you are trying to avoid this title! Doesn't ANYBODY have this damn disc?!?

I don't have the DVD, so I can't comment on it, but there are tonnes of reviews on various DVD-related websites.

Check user comments out at imdb.com:

Probably the reason nobody has reviewed this is because its a no-brainer. One of the all time great films, DeNiro is untouchable as Travis Bickle and the Script/ Direction are all perfect. It looks great on this DVD and the LOOOng featurette is very nice. Just Buy it.

I found the part of how they did the special effects of the last scenes pretty interesting, plus how they set up certain really nifty shots.

The package is very good, and the featurette is worth watching. Listening to all the principals involved was very illuminating of the film-making process. The transfer is good for a film of its age.

I know about all the site reviews, but I wanted some personal reviews from you guys! This is the "Reviews" forum is it not? Isn't it here for people to write and request reviews?! If I wanted some damn site reviews I would have got them! There is no point to this forum if you are only going to give me links to other websites. How lame is that.... This isn't the "POST YOUR LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES' REVIEWS OF DVDs FOR LAZY BASTARDS" forum.

paratize,

I know what you mean, I think. If you have an intrest in the film then get it. I saw it in theater and have the Dvd and its okay and interesting for me but I dont know if it a must have, unless you want it.

Nice comeback paratize. lol

I got rid of my copy. I really dont understand why this made the AFI top 100. It dragged, really dragged. De Niro is one of my favs but the movie just didnt seem to go anywhere and the ending was anticlimatic. Maybe I should have watched it when it first came out. What was I three then. I dont know but it seems really dated. Flame away but thats just what I think.

Yes, it is a very lethargic film to watch now, even for me.

I don't have it on DVD yet but I recently saw it again and I have to say it gets better with each viewing. Every aspect of the film, the editing, music, cinematography, highlights DeNiro's psychological states. It's not the kind of film you can pop in when your bored and be instantly entertained but I think every serious movie fan should watch it at least once or twice a year.

Don't own it, but I rented it.

The story is good, for the most part. "You talkin' to me? Are you talking to me?" But its also a bit unfocused. (I felt the same way about 'Last Tango in Paris')

The Acting is wonderful. Cybill Shepard is cast perfectly, DeNiro is wonderful of course. Harvey Keitel (a pimp) and Jody Foster are great.

I tried to watch the featurette, but I couldn't sit through the whole thing. What I did watch was interesting, though.

I personally am not after this one, but you can't argue with its popularity or critical acclaim. A lot of people like this movie.

However, I think it probably had a bigger impact on the audience during its original theater release than it will ever have with audiences of today. And I think that's because the way cinematic story telling has evolved.

Still, it remains a good disc for any collection.

If you are a DeNiro fan then you should get it. There are some good performances in the film. But I would agree that it is a bit of a let down after all the hype it's been getting. Overall a good film though.
