I was able to take a look at next month's special edition of "Twister" from Warner Brothers, and I really thought it was an excellent DVD. People have their own opinions positive or negative about the movie, and everyone pretty much knows what it's about, so I'll skip that.

The picture quality of this new edition is excellent. Aside from a minor mark or two, it looks like an improvement from the original edition - a really solid looking image from begining to end. The audio is also outstanding, which is to be expected. Both the Dolby Digital and especially the DTS audio sound as powerful as I'd hoped.

The supplements are also very enjoyable. Jan De Bont and the film's FX supervisor sit down for the commentary, which is both informative and funny at times. There's also 2 documentaries, 2 trailers and a Van Halen music video. All in all, I was very pleased and if you like the film (or just like the audio), you'll find a lot to enjoy with this DVD. Excellent, I am glad it turns out to be anamorphic...I heard rumors that it might not be. Lookin' forward to gettin' this along with Interview With the Vampire SE and Fight Club

Twister has always been anamorphic, even the original bare-bones release. Interview with the Vampire is the one that has the rumours about not being anamorphic. I suppose it is, though.

I have the box for "Interview With A Vampire": SE right here, and although I haven't actually looked at the disc itself yet, the box says it's anamorphic.

Interview With A Vampire is anamorphic on the original dvd and also on the new special edition. The same goes for Twister...
