I just got my (2nd) copy of this disc..first was empty..and I need feedback, becuase I am not sure whether it is a defective DVD or a lazy transfer.
First, total lack of features...weak.
2nd...fullscreen?
Hmm.
But, most importantly, the beginning appears to have artifacts..looks like a 15 year old print..and while I can sorta deal with that, it "jumps" a little..like a bad projection.
I then skipped a few chapters, and it appeared much cleaner.
The sound was "Okay"...
I love this film, and am surprised at the shoddy treatment given it.
So, is this just a bad transferred "Let's throw it on DVD" flick or did I get a bum copy?
Thanks.

Pretty sad huh?
This movie deserved at least a letterbox transfer and a little re-mastering.
My copy is the same. It's a Fullframe (or Pan and Scan?) fairly crappy transfer. It does jitter in the beginning, especially the opening credits. The video gets better as the movie progresses, but there's still quite a few scratches and dirt specs visable. At several points towards the end of the flick I get a vertical line running through my copy.
Definitely disappointing, but the movie as weird is as I remembered it.

Thanks,Jason...
This really surpises me. A line, too?
Great.
Well, I only paid $4.99 for it..I THINK with a Web Cert, so it eases the pain, but this movie looks "Madacy Quality"...if Artisian wanted to play games..why not release it as part of the $6.99 line?
I love the film...but sadly, cannot reccomend it on DVD now that I know it is not just my copy.
One should NOT pay MFSR of $24.99 fro full frame jitters, sloppy transfer..and since history is involved..not even a few NOTES?
And really..how hard is it to get a commentary from these people??
Should have gone Anchor Bay or Criterion.
Just my HO.
