I am looking for details on the DVD's, not the film themselves. Thanks. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

I am really happy with the picture and sound on the Top Gun disc but there are no extras whatsoever which really sucks. Sorry if that's not enough detail for you but I'm at work and don't have much time.
------------------ My DVD's |
Apeyard's comments on Top Gun hold true for A Clockwork Orange. The sound is in mono, though, in keeping with the age of the film.
Great looking transfer, despite the age of the film. Recommended, despite the lack of extras. |
A few other items of note regarding Clockwork:
--it's full frame --is the revised "R" rated version, not the original "X" rated release --to my eyes, the color is faded and does not match well from scene to scene --though mono, the audio is reasonably "hi fi" --includes zero extras |
What's the difference between the R-rated and X-rated versions???

Per IMDB . . .
In 1973, a new version of "A Clockwork Orange" was released to theaters with an MPAA rating of "R", replacing the previous "X". The new version contained approximately 31 seconds of _replacement_, less lascivious footage for two scenes: the high speed (2 frames/sec) orgy in Alex's bedroom, and the Ludovico rape scene. |
