I almost threw-up (vomited) watching the Blair Witch Project at the theater. I guess I wasn't comfortable with the way it was shot. Anyone else with a feedback about this movie?

Too bad not everyone has a strong stomach. Anyways..I thought this was the best horror movie to come out in a long time

i was another who enjoyed this movie & thought it was spooky. if you go into it expecting the second coming of christ b/c all the hype, forget it, you will hate it. but if you would like to see a low-budget unique flick (& hate camping or hearing spooky sounds in the night) you will like it. i thought that the commentary was very enjoyable as well.

The best movie of '99!!!

I was in the second row in a theater that has the largest screen in the midwest. Believe me, my stomach felt ill from the shifty picture.

I felt ill while watching the movie----not because of the jumpy camera, but because the movie was just so bad! http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

I dunno. When I saw it theatrically, I was completely taken aback. I was very impressed with it, and I pre-ordered it well in advance when it was announced on DVD.

However...when I saw it for the second time, I was bored stiff. The commentary's great though.

It's simple. If you have an imagination, you will like this. If not, just save yourself the trouble from seeing it, so you won't have to say later on, "Oh, that movie owes me 87 minutes of my life back."

Despite the media hype, BWP is one cool flick.
Last years best horror film, no doubt about it.

Personally, I hate this movie. Here's a review I wrote for Amazon a while back:

IF YOU FIND THIS UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE, SET FIRE TO IT
December 6, 1999
Total trash, from beginning to end. I felt no sympathy for the annoying characters. That girl was one whiny broad; I would like to give her a rap in the mouth. PLOT: Three student filmmakers go looking for a witch who kills kids (okay, what's the point? Did they actually believe in the witch? If so, then why the hell? If not, then why the hell?). After a little while, they start yelling f--- you at each other for 30 minutes. They run out of food, yet their camera keeps running, because it's obviously powered by a nuclear generator. The camera is aimed at the ground for most of the film. This is because the Blair Witch is actually a squirrel. After yelling f--- at each other for awhile, the three get tired and decide to walk some more. Oh, yeah, if they would've actually shut up and walked for 10 minutes, they would have found a Total station just down the road. So our heroes trek on, casually using profanity for no apparent reason. One guy dies. He yells for awhile, and the other two simply yell back, "Sean? Where the f--- hell are you, you little motherf---er?" Or something like that. Then it gets dark again (it does that a lot; usually there's a bird fluttering against the tent which makes our heroes mess themselves). They run into a house, looking for lost buddy, drop the camera, and that's it. If you didn't understand that, you can research the rest on one of the 15 million web sites set up by 13 year old Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears fans to find out the rest.
Pure genius. Now I know what all the hype was about. People's Choice Award -- Best Comedy, 1999.

I don't want to rip on the people who liked this. Just take my sarcasm for what it's worth. I don't intend to offend anyone.

Is anyone else sick of people judging other people's intelligence, creativity, imagination, etc by what movies they like or don't like?

I'm know I am! I didn't like BWP and I think I'm fairly intelligent and imaginative. AND I'M NOT A CRACKHEAD (see other threads).

mthiel 03-15-00 05:02 PM

I thought BWP was the best movie in the summer of 1999, even though I am not a horror fan (I haven't seen The Haunting so I can't make a comparison). I do own it on DVD, but do not plan to put into my player very often (I do not think it is a movie that can survive that many repeated viewings).

Bugg 03-15-00 08:02 PM

I'll second the opinion that BLAIR WITCH PROJECT was the best film of 1999.

Red Dog 03-16-00 10:52 AM

Please. This is a movie where you feel no sympathy for the characters. How smart do you have to be to realize the best way to get out of the woods is to follow a stream/river to avoid going in circles.

G. Noel Gross 03-16-00 10:55 AM

Um, they did that.
