I know this is more of a romantic movie, probably now that he's getting older, and that there's a little action/martial arts. I was wondering if this movie is good on it's own merits, not because of awesome martial arts, like most of his other films.

Check out http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/009522.html in the talk forum. Someone wrote a pretty good review there.

Personally, it wasn't my favorite Chan movie, but it also wasn't the worse one I've seen.

If you like to see Jackie Chan rocking the craddle with his female lead or if you like to the female lead talking with a dolphin, you're in luck. This movie is for you.

The movie is a rental only. Drunken Master 2 (not on DVD), Police Story, and Project A are Jackie Chan's three best movies. Gte them on DVD first.

Is that what the kids are calling it these days?

It's a real dolphin, like Flipper, the kind that swims and eats fish.
