Last night, the Independent Film Channel aired The Last Temptation of Christ with audio commentary. On this track, Martin Scorsese, Willem DeFaoe, as well as screenwriters Jay Cocks and the great Paul Schrader spoke about the making of this film. The way they spoke about the film indicated a real passion and love for the movie and their "source material." Unlike many tracks where the filmmakers try to convince you of how clever they were, these artistsconfess how their results failed to meet their high aspirations. They weren't making excuses, just revealing a little bit more about their creative process. Hearing them talk was a real inspiration. Highly recommended.
