I saw this movie for the first time tonight, and liked it quite a bit. Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman have interesting roles as convicts attempting to escape from prison.
The video isn't too great--a bit of grain and occasional scratches. Still, it's acceptable for such an old film. It's presented in 2.35:1 widescreen. I didn't really notice whether the audio was good or bad, so it's probably average. Supplements include a decent 12-minute documentary with production footage and a bit with / about the man upon whom the film is based. There is also a trailer, which is 4 minutes long (I guess previews used to be longer). I'd reccommend the disc, as the movie is very good, the list price is low, and the quality is acceptable. |
