Does anyone know anything about this title? It stars Gerard Depardieu and Ornella Muti. It is a 2-DVD set with a running time of 480 minutes, which suggests to me that it was probably a miniseries on French TV. Reel has it available for preorder at $35.99.

I'd like to see a review of this as well, as I'm thinking of buying it (DVD Express has it for $30.00). It was an eight-hour TV mini-series shown on the Bravo Channel.

There are mixed reaction from IMDB and Amazon -- most loved its excellent production values and filmmaking, superb acting and direction, etc. But those who didn't like it were those who were too familiar with the original book and story, and thus expected too much. Apparently, it had a different ending. But those who weren't Dumas fans found it thoroughly enjoyable, and would see it again if they could.
