Hi,

Please do not post information on your opinion of the lack of extras. I want to know what you think about the quality of the video and the audio only. Thank you.....

Okay, these are the ones I've seen so far:
Specs can be found at your friendly neighborhood online store, so I won't bother listing them.
Pinocchio - Doesn't look like it was restored in any way. The video is passable and the audio sounds like a well kept but old record that has a few pops here and there.
The Little Mermaid - Video is disappointing for something that's fairly recent. About on par with Pinocchio. Sound is good in quality but not spectacular for something that could have underwater ambient sounds. The original movie's mix is probably to blame for this.
Peter Pan - Video and audio are both on par with The Little Mermaid. Good but not great for something this old.
The Jungle Book - Slightly better than Peter Pan with very few noticeable scratches for an old movie. The sound is a good quality mix though nothing crazy.
101 Dalmatians - Same as above, though I must say the style of this one makes it stand up to time much better than the others visually. Somewhere in between the clean lines of The Little Mermaid and the roughness of Pinocchio, less touching up had to be made to make this one look good.

Pinocchio: I've seen it several times in theaters and it's beautiful hand drawn animation looks great on DVD. Every detail is crystal clear. The audio is quite good--no noticeable hiss or pops--but don't expect anything extraordinary. This is afterall a 1940 film. It includes the original theatrical trailer.

The Little Mermaid: Was expecting a disappointing transfer and was really surprised by it. A very sharp transfer with bold, bright colors. No shimmering or color bleeding--and no pixelation noticed in the blacks (Just check out Ursula's climactic scene). It looks and sounds great. And it's letterboxed at 1.66:1. No other extras. If you shop around you can pick these up for around $20. Well worth it.
