I just rented this brilliant film... it is awesome! Did you like Boogie Nights? You'll like this movie. Did you dislike Boogie Nights? You'll still like this movie.

The DVD is awesome. Very clean transfer, no artifacts, excellent. Ok. here's the catch, you get TWO PT Anderson commentaries, can you beat that? Nope... PT Anderson commentaries are more interesting than regular movies.

Clean sound, dolby 2.0 I think. Also trailers, deleted scene, and other stuff on there.

Great disc all around... My gripe? Why put the slaughtered pan and scam version on the other side? Why screw with artistry?

I agree. A lifetime ago, when I knew so little, and was watching DVD's, I rented hard Eight based on the gambling theme alone (suffice it to say, one of my fav. activities). Fell in love with it, a great movie watching experience. Just got the DVD this week and it is beautiful, making a great film even better. A great transfer and makes me so happy to see one of my fav's taken to the next level.

It is great to see this post, as I was just checking prices on the film. I have been meaning to get it merely because it is a PT Anderson film, and after seeing the nice comments, I will hasten my purchase
