I just received this disc from Bigstar. For those unaware, there is a series of three discs designed as a guide to the capabilites of dvd. The Gold is the middle disc,which has more than the silver, but not as much as the Platinum. I recommend it to anyne who wants a demo disc with paying the cost of video essentials. true this disc has no way of setting up your system, but it sure has things to show off your system. I have not had a chance to view all of it, but highlights include both Dolby Digital and dts sound of several videos and a section dealing with multiple angles. I am saving this section until I have a chance to play with it. It says I can select from up to 7 different angles. Supposedly, these are of explosions and implosions.
I would recommend this one over the silver. It has several things not on the silver. The Platinm has all this has, as well as more videos and I believe a section to calibrate your system, both audio and video...

I ordered the Platinum one on November from Reel and its still backordered,but I am still gonna wait for this one.Even DVDexpress has it backordered.Wonder why Bigstar got them first http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/confused.gif

I have had the Platinum version on preorder with Amazon and the release date continues to be pushed back. But I guess I will have to wait.

I just watched the implosons. I am sorry to say they are not multi angle and are under the dts section, so I ad to listen to it with silence
