I must say, these too me by surprise. I have over 400 discs right now, so I pretty much already have everything I wanted or even had slight interest in seeing. This makes finding new stuff tough. So flipping through the racks I found Trspass. It had Bill Paxton, whho rocks, was directed by Walter Hill (Last Man Standin) so that's good, and was well rated in the Movie Guide, cheap too.
Well, this movie blew me away. Tremendous suspense, great acting all around,Ice T and Ice Cube are great as gang members. Full of action, and very unpredictable. The image is anamorphic, so it looks good. Sound is surround only, but is more than adequate. If you have not see it and like thriller/suspense/action movies at all, check it out.
Trespass made me check out Judgement Night, also Goodtimes, 16X9, surround. Great actors, Estevez, Goodimg Jr, Dorff, Leary.. a story like Trespass but different enough. This movie was great too, good acting, suspense and action. So check these two out, you won't be disappoited!!!
Trespass 5/5 Highly recommended!!
Judgement Night 4/5 Really good
Both surprisingly good!!

Keep in mind, prospective buyers, that both of these movies are presented in anamorphic 1.78:1 (approx.), which is not their original theatrical aspect ratio. JUDGMENT NIGHT I know for a fact (because I own the laserdisc) is a 2.35:1 film, so the DVD id way off the mark in it's presentation. I, for one, have chosen to pass on JUDGMENT NIGHT (I've never seen TRESPASS) until somebody does it right on DVD. It's examples like this that show that laserdisc ain't quite dead yet, baby!

JSweet . . . I agree!!!

I own the DVD of "Judgment Night" and the movie is entertaining every time I watch it . . . a great cast . . . Dennis Leary is DA BOMB!!!. Although I don't own "Trespass", I remember enjoying the film as well. If I find a good deal, I'll probably pick it up.

I only wish they were in DD 5.1. However, these GoodTimes DVDs can be found at a very low price which makes up somewhat for the lack of digital sound.

Could it be that Ice-T and Ice Cube are great as gang members because um, well........... they are?
