Would anyone recommend this DVD? Does it really improve your systems output?

I believe you mean Video Essentials.

But yes it is worth it and it will improve your system.

AVIA's Guide to Home Theater is newer and better though.

There's also somthing called DVD Platinum (I think-there's also a Gold and Silver edition coming out) that Enterprise (another member on this board) said should blow away AVIA, but I think he said it was Region 4 (he's in Austrailia) so I'm not sure if it's the same as the Region 1 disc.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll try that AVIA DVD. Amazon users gave it good reviews.
