I've read that the Collector Edition DVD is outstanding, but I really want to know how good the movie is.

Is the dialogue interesting, or is it average - making the movie kinda boring?

Marc,

Out Of Sight is a based on the novel by Elmore Leonard. I recall, after reading the book, thinking that leonard had starting writing for the movies, It seemed that each chapter was a new scene for a movie. A lot of his books have been made into movies, Get Shorty is one of the better known in the last few years.

Out Of Sight is true to Leonards style. Lots of quirky characters and enept bad guys. Mixed in with a dose of sex (after all you have George Clooney and Jenifer Lopez) capers going wrong and double crosses and you have the fixings for a great movie. In this case something went wrong. Out Of Sight is a good movie and fun to watch but it falls short of what it should have been.

I saw the movie in the theater and could not put my finger on the problem. My wife asked me to get the DVD becuase she did not see it in the theater, so I watched it again on DVD. I think the problem is, while the two leads are likeable the relathionship between them is the crux of the movie and they don't quite pull it off.

In fairness I should point out that I seem to be in the minority on this. The movie was very popular with the public and with critics, and in the end is fun to watch ( remember with George and Jenifer all the demographics are covered).

Don't even think twice - BUY IT! http://forum.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif It's a great movie that just gets better each time you watch it! http://forum.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

Flintstone is right -- this is a great movie (and spectacular on DVD). I've seen it three times now, and it gets better each time. It's one of those movies that is full of interesting characters, story developments, interaction and nuance -- so you see fresh things on each viewing. And that's one of the reasons I buy a movie, rather than rent.

The story is fun and sexy. There's a lot of chemistry between the gorgeous, glamorous leads. The supporting cast couldn't be more colorful. The dialog is snappy, the music is sexy ...I could go on and on.

Clooney stinks, but it's still worth buying for those beautiful beautiful buns of Jennifer Lopez. I'm just a little pissed that she thinks it's too big, she needs to stop hiding it in her videos and stuff, a work like that shouldn't be hidden...

--this anaconda don't want none unless you got buns hun!--

Poorboy,

Lopez isn't hiding her butt anymore, but it really doesn't matter since she trimmed it down a great deal.

Marc,

I bought this movie for Jennifer Lopez before
seeing it. I love this movie. Jennifer is
a bonus. Now that I've seen it, I think I
probably would have gotton it sans Lopez.(but
I'm glad she's in it http://forum.dvdtalk.com/ubb/wink.gif)

I normally don't like Clooney either but, I
did in this movie. If your still unsure,
you should pick it up as a rental or
something. It beats buying something you
won't like(even though I'd give this movie
a 4.5 on a 5 scale).

I appreciate ALL the reviews.

It sounds like something I would like.

I think I'm gonna have to pick it up.

Thanks everyone!

Good acting, great characters, and an interesting seductive story line make this a must see movie. One of my favorites. I liked this movie so much I bought it before I had a dvd player.
