I'm not much of a reviewer, but I loved this movie http://www.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

Never heard of it until someone mentioned it here somewhere. Great story, good transfer, good extras (audio commentary from writer/director), a buy 4 get 1 coupon inside, and only 14.99 at brick and mortar Best Buy.

I agree, Zero Effect is a great movie. I was recommended this movie by a friend, so I rented it on VHS (damn the inferior quality), and I liked it so much I ordered it from Reel and I love this movie.

I also had heard nothing but good things
about this movie!! So I ordered it awhile
ago, but still haven't watched it yet.

Something to look forward to I guess! http://www.dvdtalk.com/ubb/wink.gif

Just finally got around to picking this one up, a bit late it would seem. Great movie though, comes highly recommended.

Probably the only good modern movie filmed in Portland, OR. I think it has(had) franchise potential ... oh well ...

Wowee, now that is quite the thread bump!

A movie this good deserves a bump. Pullman deserved an Oscar nom for this

Is that an intentional slap at Gus Van Sant, or an accidental one? -smile-

Kasdan did try to launch it as a TV series a few years later. They shot a pilot, with Alan Cumming in the lead, but unfortunately NBC sent it the way of "Fox Force Five" (I wonder if they passed on it in favor of Scrubs or their seventh Law & Order spinoff). It would have been cool if Kasdan could have included the pilot on the The TV Set DVD- I've always wanted to see it.

I agree it's one of the best overlooked movies of the past decade.

totally accidental ... should have said 'best Hollywood movie' ...

Much love, Gus!

One bizarre thing I noticed in this bump was that the first few posts have us signed in as guests.

I know I had registered a couple years before making that original post, so I guess the forum software was quirky that day.

Still a great movie, one of my first DVDs. Perhaps I'll queue that up tonight....
