Overall . . . my wife and I enjoyed this
Sci-fi classic on DVD.

It stars a very young Gene Barry!

But did you notice the strings attached to
the alien spaceships in nearly ALL of the
scenes? Was this apparent in the theatres

Aside from the strings . . . I enjoyed seeing
many of the southern California locations
used . . . near Crestline in the Big Bear
Mountains . . . and lots of old Los Angeles

And gosh . . . what a clever ending! Who
would have thought of THAT ending? (I won't
spoil it for you).

Anyone else have this favorite?

(Love them flu shots!

Unless I missed your sarcasm on the "surprise" ending, have you ever heard of H.G. Wells? (George Pal's flick is based on Well's masterpiece which was written earlier this century or late 1800s. Well's original version takes place in England etc etc)
As for the Pal's excellent rendition, I've yet to get it on DVD but I imagine it would show the wires more do to the better resolution. After all, this movie came out in the mid-50's, so give it a break. Just enjoy it!

Oh, I agree Crimson . . .

I enjoyed the DVD. And I wouldn't change it
in the least! (Including piano wires and

Something about those great sci-fi classics
that should remain the same . . . as a part
of film's history.

What other Wells films are you looking forward
to on DVD?

(A Gene Barry fan.)
