These "October Horror Movie Challenge" threads are for the discussion of the films in the 31 FILM SUBSET list.
The plan is for everyone to watch this film on the October day in the thread title, and to start discussing it the morning of the following day.
You may start discussion early if you want, but the preferred plan is for this to be as much of a group exercise as possible, with all of us viewing it "together" and discussing after.
Of course, you are totally encouraged to participate in these threads even if you haven't watched the movie on the designated day.
Even if you haven't watched it in years, or are not participating in the Horror Challenge, please feel free to chime in.
Spoiler tags aren't always used in here, so if you have yet to see the film BEWARE OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

I couldn’t get into this at all. The commercials while amusing at first, really wore out their welcome.

I was hoping to watch this, but it's not on Shudder anymore. I ordered a DVD days ago, but it won't be here in time. If anyone knows of a link, please post it. But I'll plan on Halloween Ends for tonight.

I believe I watched this for the first time in last year's challenge. I can totally understand how someone could absolutely hate this, but I really like it and was surprised how much I enjoyed this rewatch.
More than anything, I applaud its commitment to its own gimmick, even though it might be slightly to the detriment of the film on the whole. The commercials were already brought up, and that's a perfect example. Having the commercials makes it a more authentic feeling experience for its concept, but it can take you out of the moment or result in a deflation of suspense.
Believe it or not, I can see this becoming a little tradition for me. It's just a fun little distraction for the most part that feels totally in the Halloween spirit. I need to introduce it to friends next year. I think they will at least appreciate it as a one-time viewing experience. I wasn't sure if it would work as a replay, but it worked for me.

Oh man, I was hoping this was going to be closer to Video Violence, than this.... This was a bit of a chore, and I just received the VS blu. This seem like about 50% commercials, that you would try and avoid on a normal day. Yay, made up commercials to sit through.
The interviews were pretty funny.

I enjoyed this as a casual mood piece. It's commitment to the gimmick is impressive but at times it is too on the nose that is feels as manufactured as it is. The television hosts were the best part and they helped extend the veil of suspense when nothing happens for so much of the run time (and is constantly interrupted by advertisements). I think their attempt to keep it seemong like a retro tv show was both the best part of it (retro humor) and the worse part (refraining from pushing the envelope). The twist at the end where the real bad guys were who no one would suspect was fun.

This was a fun way to pass the time on the elliptical at the gym this morning. Yeah, the commercials did get a bit old, but Frank never failed to amuse me.

That took a harsh turn at the end.
Shadow
I like the commercials for the most part -- they had a Parks and Rec vibe. Space Paranoids, the tampon commercial, YorkRidge Popcorn, "Turn your voice into cash!", and Eggs & Legs Special!
Nice bit of nostalgia.

I watch lots of old commercial compilations, so this was right up my alley. The commercials were my favorite part. They're the kind of thing that is almost impossible to replicate authentically, if the slightest thing is off the whole illusion crumbles.
I even liked the repetition of commercials as the show went on, as it reminded me of that eerie feeling you get when you're watching something horrific unfolded on live TV, and when they have to break for commercial, you see these light-hearted or celebratory spots that now feel like they're coming from another planet. I like the bit where after the cat has been killed, you see him during the investigator's book commercial.
I've gotta get that T-shirt with the poster done in the style of the old full-page ads in TV Guide. That looks amazing.
