I enjoyed Footprints. What a supremely cryptic and great hook with a psychadelic title. Ultimately it's handled with so much cold formality it ends up being a mood in search of a plot. There are chilling and effective elements here like the strange child, out of nowhere astronauts, or Florinda Bolkan's sheepish bewilderment but on a rhythm cying back again and again rather than any advancement for so long. Its the sort of film that might have a lot of details easy to overlook but comes off as a gimmick with a few cool visuals. I love that they dont too much try to explain the ending because it's not a film about answers it's a film about endless bewilderment.
I almost didnt recognize Klaus Kinski as the controller.

I’m an hour in and I have no idea where this is going or what is going on. Just like the lead broad it seems. Maybe that’s the point. Hey I figured it out after all. I’m a genius.

A strange, psychological mood piece about a woman who has no memory of the last three days. Interesting, but a bit slow.

An outstanding film, with the type of atmosphere, mood, and location which adds to its allure and its mystery. Nothing is ever explained, unless by way of allegory, and the film encompasses several genres. The sumptous location cinematography and the English dubbing add to its unique charms as in interesting social artifact of 50 years ago. Surely, also a time capsule, as well, as I'm sure that resort location has changed, become touristy and / or crowded by now!

Slowest of the slow burns for sure. Definitely a nice time capsule as mentioned. The lunar mission was an odd bit of framing -- I thought maybe there was a conspiracy given her job as a high level interpreter -- but the floating lunar module in the opening titles was a nice touch. Little girl from Flesh for Frankenstein makes an appearance too.

I thought I'd seen the little girl before!
Yeah, the movie ended with a big wtf? I had to look up a review to get a clue as to what was going on.
But it kept me engaged throughout. The location was super interesting (IMDB says it was shot in Rome and Turkey), and the English dubbing was appreciated. I thought there'd be more of an answer about why she'd become "Nicole" and what it had to do with the guys on the moon, but I guess it was just
Or something like that.
Poor Harry!
