A standard found footage film. The possession elements were okay. I have seen this a few times and like many found footage films, it doesn't hold up to repeat viewings.

I saw this years ago, but I've been wanting to rewatch it because I didn't remember much about it.
I dug it. I liked the slow corruption of the very proper old lady. What a fearless performance from Jill Larson. Wow. I can't imagine taking on a role like that--or trying to cast it. She was perfect. The daughter, played by Anne Ramsay, was also very good. The slow reveal of the backstory involving the Satanic pediatrician, and the snakes, was nicely done and lent the film a mystery flavor. It's refreshing that the possession was not "a demon" but a deceased soul inhabiting Deborah's body because of her "weakened mind". I also liked the additional elements in the form of news reports and the only time I thought "why the hell are they filming this?" was in the cave at the very end. Like, drop the freaking camera and run! But, in general, this really works great as found footage.
I'm giving this a 4/5.

Yep! I had seen this years ago also, when it was on a few horror lists. I felt it was a good pairing of Alzheimer’s with the theme of possession. I don’t love it as much as when I originally saw it, but I still think it’s pretty good. Not a fan of the shaky cam, but this lady, minus the possession is my mother in most every detail.

I am not a fan of most found footage movies but found this one to be passable and well-acted. But like most found footage films, it ran out of steam in the last third and I felt myself getting bored with it as tedium stepped in. I found the first half to be much more spooky and eerie than the second half. Decent enough but I don't feel I will even need to revisit it.
My rating: **1/2 out of *****

I’m leaning towards the positive here. The Alzheimer’s angle, and the possession not being a demon were huge pluses. Some good acting too. The last act isn’t as strong, like most found footage films imho.

Count me as another that has grown tired of the found footage stuff. Throwing in the Alzheimer’s element added another layer of dread that nearly everyone can relate to.

Overall cool film that tries some bold things.
The Alzheimer's angle seems ripe but also shameless in capitalizing on a painful ailment affecting many people. Watched this with my son after my mom had to move.in due to dementia and we found it catartic and humor in it.
I hate how laborious the backstory is and I think it over explains to a point is takes away from the visuals and metaphor. A French pedetrician trying Indian rituals is awefully specific and doesnt let viewer's mind add as much of their own interpretation. Even the cool switchboard imagery is over explained repeatedly. This seems to undermine the film and defeat the real life parallels to Alzheimers and brilliant potential for metaphor (nevermind that we are interjecting a weird french snake guy).
The ending has some chilling imagery far out but still convincing. The nude old woman is perfect creepy in making us feel invasive of her while also being thematically synched; that was a gutsy move that paid off. I love the subtle epilogue with the smiling patient.
